After watching that convention, do you feel like the party understands the severity of what people are going through right now? People are about to lose their homes or already have. No financial support in sight. It’s an echo chamber that is simply not listening.
I completely agree but this isn’t a message that turns people out whether we like it or not. It all goes back to the foundational assumption that the entire country is as mad as we are from what we see on social media and the news. I think this factor being overestimated.

I guess I’m just concerned we are taking that for granted instead of empathizing with voters.

Good point about assuming we are all looking through the same lens. But you don’t think getting rid of Trump is unifying? It seems the one thing Dems can agree on. No?

I think there is a large portion that it will unify but what I’m seeing and this is completely annecedotal, is the boiling over point of multiple terms of being told to just plug your nose and you’ll get it next election. I know a ton of groups working on it so I have hope.

I feel like we are without federal government help right now in all daily living logistics (food, rent, health etc). We need to step up individually, locally to fill the gap until we get a real national governing body.
