If you were one of the officers caught on camera assaulting an unarmed civilian and went viral, I think now it’s unlikely due to the bad public relations hit. Making cops be bonded and carry malpractice insurance can serve as an antidote to this problem, too.
I absolutely agree with the latter. Unfortunately, we have had some high profile cases in Fresno where the officers were fired and literally hired in neighboring cities. I hope this will be different.

I think then you gotta have a database of cops nationwide so if they got fired or were forced to resign over a police brutality incident, then they can be easily rejected when a background check is done for them if they apply for another police job elsewhere.
