What you’re seeing is the culmination of years of frustration boiling over and many aren’t willing to simply hold their nose and vote for the lesser of two evils anymore. Democrats have led the way on social issues and for that I am very thankful.

However when it comes to fiscal issues, both parties have essentially moved the same way and it has created the income inequality we see today. Until a party shows they see how corporatism has taken over the US you will continue to have this massive amount of distrust.

I also believe the social issues are why so many older voters are turned off by raging against “the establishment” because in their eyes that “establishment” is who fought for lgbtq rights, a women’s right to choose and much more.

What we continue to miss is the intersectionality of those social and fiscal issues and we need to start working on that exact messaging. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
