I didn't mean to come off like I was downplaying the amount which I'm sure was helpful to hundreds of thousands. I was just in the middle of trying to delay my student loans at the time for as long as possible.
Well I’ll put it this way. When the idea was first floated I was a senior in HS. Our teacher asked why it wouldn’t work. My answer was that everyone was already in so much debt, the amount would only go to paying bills as opposed to stimulating the economy.
