Have we become so traumatized by politics that the people who actually fight for our best interests have become the bad guys? I’m genuinely trying to understand the generational gap in support of candidates this cycle.

I think that both current candidates have an equal chance to beat Trump. What I dislike is the constant insults being hurled at the group that gave us the Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, LBGTQA rights, freedom of choice, better healthcare, etc.
I think that it highlights the generational gap in what dems have done. Most of these battles happened prior to our generations engagement in this system. Our view of the party has pretty much been constant compromise that results in benefits for the few instead of the many.

I understand. I'm in the middle (Gen-X), grew up in an all-Dem family whose parents admitted they voted for Reagan once & regretted it later. I'm trying to see how folks my age (39ish-50ish) can bridge the gap better & listen to both sides.
