The abuse Erica describes was not perpetuated in a vacuum. Dude had allies. He had a friend at the Western Union counter who gave him Erica's address. A friend at the PD who notified him when his victim was brought in.

Those guys never laid a hand on Erica's friend. But they were still complicit in her abuse. And they're the same guys who "need to hear both sides" because they want to give their bro the benefit of the doubt.

We need to take the things women say seriously. We need to respect their autonomy. We need to stop believing that men have an inherent right of access to women. Even the women they're dating, or married to.

The abuse, his friends' support of it, "incel" arguments about redistribution of sex (seriously, ew), lonely men turned murderers after a rejection, they're all part of the same culture. Fucking cut it out, guys. Women are people.
