Most Americans want to #CancelStudentDebt
A college education shouldn't leave you with a lifetime of debt. Canceling it paired with tuition-free public college would help our economy, lift families out of poverty and allow higher education to be accessible to everyone.

Student loan debt affects people of all ages and situations.
40% of people holding student debt did not even graduate and the largest growing segment of borrowers are people over 50 years old.
3/
Student loan debt is a women's issue.
We hold 2/3 of student debt and repay at a slower rate because of systemic inequities like the gender pay gap and obstacles to staying in the workforce like paid family leave and universal childcare.
4/
The super-wealthy don't have student debt.
Canceling it and providing tuition-free public college would directly benefit working-class families and should not be means-tested. Education should not be a privilege.
6/
Student loan debt disproportionately affects BIPOC communities— with black women owing, on average, up to $12,000 more than other races and ethnicities.
Canceling student debt is one path towards economic equality.
7/
Student loan repayments aren't sustainable with almost half of borrowers who attended for-profit colleges defaulting within 12 years. With stagnant wages and an ever increasing cost of living, student loan debt can be insurmountable for many.

#CancelStudentDebt & help the economy.
Without the burden of student debt, borrowers would have more money to pump into local economies, start families, buy homes, start businesses and build wealth. Canceling student debt benefits everyone, not just the people who have it.
