Wow. So much here. Unless artists also pay for the recording-aka the sound recording copyright mentioned in this bill-(1)

This only helps the record companies who paid for the recording session itself as they own these rights and not the artist. (2)

Currently terrestrial radio compensates only the main copywriter holder-usually the artist-through negotiated ASCAP or BMI licenses (3)

So again, unless the artist also owns the sound recording copyright this bill does nothing to give them more control. (4)

And while more artists are finding ways to pay for their recordings and thus have some ownership of the recordings, distribution still (5)

Favors record companies, which is who really benefits first from a bill like this. So basically, like most bills, the details matter. (6)

Also curious as to why this doesn't also include satellite and online distribution methods and only terrestrial radio? (7)
