The only 2 coronaviruses outbreaks we've had, MERS and SARS did not return- they hit once and disappeared. Perhaps COVID will do the same, and not be seasonal like an influenza.

I agree that we can cautiously return to work. There are less burdensome ways for the federal government and the state to stop the spread of COVID-19 while still allowing citizens life, liberty, and property rights. Antibody testing and herd immunity considerations might help.
