Central banks are in glass tower la la land. The Fed calls it a "listening tour" but never engage with earnest critics, rather we see someone like mock people on twitter as "QE conspiracists" & "swashbuckling pirates". No trust, no transparency, no accountability.

Largest YoY decline since... Sept 2009. That is not good. No bounce and Germany will get slammed hard by conoravirus as it exports a lot to China

I recently had the chance to discuss with Jason Goldberg aka who is the founder and CEO. We got to talk about some of their new features, what Pepo is all about, how it started, and where it’s going. Check it out!

This is bad news. It will be interesting to see if ramps up due to China demand (they are pretty savvy about stuff like this!). Let's see.

Testing capacity is ramping up, perhaps this suggests that right now (i.e. this second) there is still no where near enough testing capacity. This is still a lab test, not a portable 'kit' (which will come, but take time to produce en masse, i.e. weeks)

Not a good situation. Hubei is overwhelmed :(

New 'infected' growth went down by 200 (3.9k to 3.7k new on 5th Feb), but 'suspected' number went UP by 1,500. Suggests a lack of testing kits. Perhaps the reports of plenty of testing capacity were inaccurate. It's so hard to know as numbers are clearly hugely lowballed

Whilst Cathay will be very badly affected, many airlines may have to follow suit. Especially in Asia

Death rate will increase because more people will be diagnosed with b4 dying (as no backlog), as opposed to before when if you died without having been tested you would have generic 'pneumonia' on death cert. It's morbid, trying to raise awareness of what is likely next

'Suspected' grew 0% DoD on 4th Feb (as expected, 'suspected' should trend towards 0 now no/few testing capacity issues), and total cases in Hubei rocketed by 23% (was 21% previously), driven by testing backlog clearing. Non-Hubei just 11%, more contained, but still a problem.

As per my last tweet storm, with production of kits now ramped up, one should rapidly see a reduction in 'suspected' cases, and an increase in both 'infected' and 'not' (after all you are one of the other). 'Suspected' should trend to almost zero if it's a one hour result time.

Caixin (independent to Chinese Gov media) writes what needs to be written. They often report in a more balanced manner, worth reading.

This is a major statement to make, sure the economy in Macau = in-effect shutdown as Casino's are shut, but there are still other parts of the economy. If Carrie Lam said this in Hong Kong it would be much larger news. But it's important to not forget Macau.

Ok so a S Korean women testing positive after visiting THAILAND is not good. Could be from flight, but neither way no direct China exposure here. Worrying 🤕

Western Gov's would have same approach, it's widely known 'cause of death' is often hotly contended across the world. The true picture will come out, hopefully actions in China get Corona under control (fingers crossed), & the RoW has zero major outbreaks (so far so good) 18/N
