Whatever you do in life, don't panic. Keep a cool head and a tight grip on your emotions. They're valuable indicators in some cases (intimate relationships etc), but need to give rise to calm reflection or simply be told to gtfo at times. Having a plan aids this.

Mens sana in corpore sano. Meditation, study and exercise help to keep your body and mind strong. Prepare for the problems you see people having around you. It's the books you read when you don't have to that define you. So read some good ones, including ones you disagree with.

Be aware of the interior narrative that helps us make sense of the world around us(events, people, etc) & realize there is wisdom in taking a step back and looking at what you 'wrote', how you valuated things & why, do this with brutal honesty and possibility you're in the wrong.
