Yo @DanteLabs what's up with the pricing on your @nanopore kit? 180Gb for 1k? And claiming CLIA certification to boot? Seems like a bit of a stretch....

90Gb isn't it ? Either way it's impressive ...

Their website claims 180Gb average while also claming 30x coverage (90Gb) with 20kb N50. I guess 90 is in the realm of possible but it still a ...suprising.... number.

Can't actually see reference to 180Gb?

Far right. Though it actually looks like cut off the header. But thats the nanopore column. May well be a simple mistake.pic.twitter.com/BpsVZ4ZDOZ

I'd be inclined to read that as 90Gb x 2 (e.g. FASTQ)

In which case the case the mistake is on me. But I'll remain skeptical that colection of saliva kit + dna extraction + qc + library prep + sequencing + analysis at 1k is a sustainable model.

The majority of costs for large testing companies are sales and overhead. We avoid those costs and pass the savings to the customers
