imagine a rogue lab with well-intentioned, but reckless, goal of accelerating COVID viral evolution towards a faster-spreading but less-severe variants. if that lab succeeds, creating Omicron, & it gets out… would that be worthy of criminal prosecution, a Nobel prize, or both?
