Got a wacky idea for @1517fund. Over the winter break encourage teens to build their own Rube Goldberg machine with common objects. In late July we would fly teams out to a summit to showcase their builds — kinda @HackTheNorth style without winners. Let’s make this great! Ideas?
so were you thinking a two stage competition, an open video competition / entry phase, and then an in person competition? pretty much says this is an annual summer or spring competition imo

I am staying away from this being called a competition -- there are elements of that but I want teams to feel like it's a collaborative effort to make something fun and cool. And yes some things will be showcased but no "winners." And yes, both online first and then in person.

I figure good to pilot over winter break while teens might have more time. Our event is in July so we could have multiple rounds.
