While at @CarnegieMellon - besides having jedi@cmu.edu for an email address, I was notified that of available campus bandwidth, it was split three ways between Lycos, me & my roommate’s dorm room, & the rest of campus. Yep, Walter Wong of the network team at Computing Services gave us a note about it. Lycos moved to one of the floors in the West Penn Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, & we got to stay connected. But, yes, my site was in the top 10 of traffic at the PSC NAP.

I wished I had a photo of that 486 getting thrashed (FreeBSD stripped down with a custom kernel) - took the sides off it to keep it cool next to an open window in the Winter. I eventually stuck it on Netscape on a HP Apollo in my cluster I managed.
