Yeah. I hate the idea of having to impose a vax mandate and accompanying coercion this late because of the social disaster that it would conjure up, but real politics makes it hard to avoid now. I believe Germany has a majority for it too.

The only upside of a vaccination mandate is that it will help against the damn virus. The downside is the sociopolitical reality of it. Germany risks going through a societal split similar to what the US are going through. Some say it is inevitable already.

Yeah as a rule of thumb, outside of maybe maybe China where the single party might reward theatrics, my prior is lockdowns are rarely an overreaction. They’re so damn expensive, and people are viewed as so disposable.
