people don't realise that if you keep the co2 around from a combustion process and burn aluminum powder within it, it forms graphene, which can reinforce concrete, and alumina/corundum. elementally, diamonds and sapphire.

today, creating aluminum actually produces co2 (i think graphite or activated carbon is used as a sacrificial anode or something) but you could imagine doing another process or capturing co2 in a large centralized plant. Al as a powder for distributed carbon capture?
