there’s got to be some tasks like deep 1 person coding or reading or something that are faster, though, right? you mention the benefits; did you ever try to quantify the benefit of the lack of distraction? generally agree with your overall assessment

It's hard for me to quantify the lack-of-distraction benefit, since I have a private office at work. I mention at the end that for people in open office environments, remote work might be a huge improvement. Not sure how large though...
