“smart”? she was only doing astrophysics in kindergarten—by the time I was 4, I had published three papers and got accepted to NASA
guess they really just let anyone into K-12 gifted programs these days

there were copies of Hawking’s Brief History of Time and The Universe in a Nutshell, spammed all over the place at that time, for example. My parents were nice enough to take me to the library. There are cool pictures on / in the books. See how this could happen?

right, so it was less “reading encyclopedias and astrophysics books, and testing into 11th grade” and more “looking at pictures” this is very clearly important to your own self-image, so I will leave it alone, but yes I do think you are clearly exaggerating

besides, this discussion has been had and ended already—she acknowledged that the "reading astrophysics" was more like flipping through it and looking at pictures (cool, interesting, believable) so there's the truth, and there's the exaggeration. just a silly thing to lie about

yeah i mean i was aware of and fascinated by things like the evolution of stars into black holes, nova, and white dwarfs, neutrons stars, red dwarfs, etc. really i don’t think you understand how i’m meaning it. i’m meaning the good books without a lot of calculus, still have #s
