great question. i think the situation where kids are advanced in classes comes up a *lot*. my school was also kind enough to do some little things, a math professor started coming over a talking to me... occasionally, i think in 2nd grade? i think the general point is connection

connect kids who are really excited or advanced about certain things and just let them move ahead. if they finish their work, let them do personal projects or read books or whatever. do not overly bureaucratise
