It's a really big problem. Every planet could be a sidechain in an intergalactic blockchain. BUT the time between blocks in that intergalactic chain has to be slower than the distance between the furthest planets in light minutes.

So if there is just earth and mars, the block time should be at least 22.4 minutes. People on Mars could send and receive Bitcoin, but they could not take part in the consensus mechanism. Because the miners on earth would have always a 2 blocks leap.
