hmm. maybe! i think you have similar energetic requirements if you meet its orbit at all, but there may be advantages to “hitching a lift” in other ways

That’s a good point, I guess you have to catch up, otherwise you’d be a bug splat on a windshield
I wonder if the huge mass would give orbit decay benefits or would it be the feather/bowling ball in a vacuum analogy.
I stand behind the “cool” factor though.

you could maybe design an insane mission wherein the thing is supposed to survive a collision / embedding at like 1 million g, or where you learn something by smashing into it and looking at spectra from the vaporized ice and rock
