is subsecond latency crypto a thing yet?

the thing is on the very fastest chains (I think solana wins here? idk I only really know ethereum well) you may be able to get a transaction in a block in under a second
-
but to get *confirmation* you need to wait for some number of additional blocks to be sure yours is in, regardless of pow or pos chain

You're running up against physics. A distributed set of confirmation entities need to exchange data about the thing they're confirming, then vote (roughly). If they're not in the same place, this gets very difficult.

yeah, i know. what i’m looking for are intelligent partial confirmation strategies in research that do not require a planetary roundtrip (130ms)
