yeah stuff like this is obv way more expensive and unavailable, housing, education and medicine way cheaper. less social mobility now, but hey you can get a huuuge tv and a pocket super computer.
for sure, it’s messed up in multiple ways, and maybe unnecessary treatment represents the bulk of the spend, but even simple / routine stuff has inflated dramatically.

I agree, there is a ton of disagreement about causes. the argument I personally find most convincing is that is subsiding a lot more expensive treatments that are under-reimbursed.

i think this is a just so argument but you can burst that bubble pretty wide by looking at the absolute size and employment in health insurance, and hospital administrator / president salaries, & doctor salaries / malpractice premiums. enormous bloat compared to single payer sys
