Watch the referenced Richard Alley video. It's not so much the absolute level, although we are headed that way and it wouldn't be good, as the wholly unnatural speed at which it's going up. Among other things, it's far exceeds ocean pH buffering ability and risks tipping points.

*it The big scary IMO is actually the PETM of ~53 mya, which Richard discusses. It gives us a good idea of what Earth system feedbacks are capable of it we push things too hard. A repeat now would be nastier because we have ice. 1/
