Can one measure the wavelength of the waves from the motion of the ball?

...not... exactly. the ball is bouncing off a rapidly oscillating tuning fork, *that’s* the dominant frequency which determines the wavelength along iwth the speed of sound. the ball bouncing has energy from the tuning fork striking it but also in the deformation of the ball
