it’s not some mass conspiracy, it’s just easy to make fun of someone going around touring eateries in a pandemic, it seems quintessentially nyc tourist, it doesn’t take machiavelli to coordinate lots of people noticing this obvious pr campaign and how silly it is

dude he started doing this and then got covid, maybe his intentions were good and i’m even a fan of a lot of his policies but it was a pretty questionable judgement call

Hes not had familiarity with some basic city stuff, which is a valid issue in a mayoral race. He also left during the pandemic. De Blasio being from Boston came up in '13. John Liu wasn't labeled an outsider when he ran (though he arguably faced other racial issues).

Having a kid with autism isn't the easiest thing in a crowded place during a pandemic. Yeah he should've made his kid suffer so NY media would treat him as a real New Yorker. Really healthy attitude.

In that time he raised a million dollars for poor families in the Bronx. He was actively helping NY and his son at the same time. But the narrative is that he's a foreigner in his own home, so let's spin it into him not caring about NYC enough and cowardly leaving.

I have plenty of concerns about Yang being able to deliver on his promises, about the campaign strategists he picked, and whether he can be effective in government. He's all hype at the moment... but the media has focused on the most inconsequential things to attack.

well, if i were running his campaign (not that i know anything) i would have focused on his roots and history and history of public service and not done the ‘andrew yang tours new york’ thing, but that’s just me. that people are picking on this is unfair but fated, basically
