nothing is stressful in quite the same way as debugging an audio chain. you want headroom for quality, but dread accidental feedback. then there’s tracking down every source of noise till you reach exhausatisfaction...

accidentally turned the preamp to an unused line in up. it was picking up enough noise to be *just* loud enough to be intermittently cut by the noisegate, so there was this intermittent hiss out of the monitoring on something that should have been off. maddening!

i have wrapped cords in aluminum foil for extra shielding. it stays! i also wrapped my dac. it inadvertently cooked the thing. this will have to breathe free.
