hey for starlink v2 how about covering the satellites in (idk) vanta black so you have minimal reflection for astronomers

I think I read that there’s a problem with heat absorption even just painting them regular old black.

for sure! you either need to make a thermal gap, or transmit the heat throughout the satellite, or maybe, make a reflective sun/planetshield (has to be aligned)

Not my domain, but, just thinking, 1st & 2nd options may just delay the problem if there isn’t a pretty good radiator, which would need to somehow be kept out of the sun…and then reflective sunshade runs the risk of causing the problem again (tho you did mention alignment).
