very excited for airship futures - any recommended reading on the state of the industry/upcoming players? Most recent one I've seen:https://singularityhub.com/2020/08/04/airships-are-no-longer-a-relic-of-the-past-you-could-ride-in-one-by-2023/ …

haven’t read up on anything recently, but 2 new (or old) ideas to add to the mix: warm air & water vapor is a fine lifting gas, as is hydrogen and vapor if you’re running a drone or have convincingly solved the, uh, leak & flammability problem slender fast lifting body drone

whoa, was not aware of warm/vapor mix; seems affordable and very stable. non-chemist here; is it feasible to mix in additional flammability-reducing agent in with hydrogen+vapor to reduce reactivity?

well, not really, you just have to (a) seal the liner with some kind of polymer, and make sure differential charge doesn’t build up
