Been around for decades. Just looks like the PV cell and insulation is upgraded. Also there are cheap plastic distillation units that work well, also.

it's not novel to me. i've seen evap to capillary action in cascade series/parallel with waste heat recovery back in the 90s in Texas. all in a two-axis tracking vacuum-insulated pipe with a triple pane entry window. instead of paper towels it was newsprint.
