Explorers always underestimate the time, effort, & resources needed to reach & live in the new frontier. But to believe Osita, you must believe that it’s not only harder than we think, but that P(human extinction on Earth) > P(meaningful space colonization) I’d bet against that

if we can't solve climate change in the next couple of decades, how tremendously advanced must the methods of the future be for us to terraform a whole planet. i do admire the optimism. maybe i just have depression brain
