this graph is a stupid argument. bitcoin isn't capable of replacing 'government' or 'the banking system' it is just one component and if you scale it up even horizontally its energy usage will multiply, outscaling your comparisons. per transaction it's not even close.pic.twitter.com/BA2U4uZhKI

I am happy Bitcoin *exists* as a stepping stone, but since the whole design of the network is resistant to change I think it is fated to be a stepping stone, and I have to challenge the contentions of the maximalists
