*sigh* so there was this savage beating of a guy on the nyc subway, a black guy beats on this (asian? hispanic) guy for like a minute and then chokes him out, just awful but the thing that is keeping me from sleep is the response. some people said ‘oh he called him the n word’

1. this is not captured on tape, i didn’t hear it 2. in mandarin there is a common word “那个” pronounced as “nà ge” or “nèi ge” which *sounds similar* and can be mistaken 3. people trying to justify this is absolutely chilling. how could any word justify that absolute beatdown.
