Is the pandemic the most significant shared experience, in terms of duration and reach, the world has ever experienced? WWII was much less shared. Images of nuclear blasts leave a lasting and possibly universal impression but are themselves brief. ...what am I not thinking of?

less time coherence in the other pandemics, for sure! the mt tambora explosion if i understand it caused famine nearly everywhere though
