I like the water analogy for explaining electricity: When water flows through a tube (electricity through a cable), voltage is like the water speed (how much energy does each electron/drop of water carry?), and amperage is the amount of water/electrons flowing.

The version I was taught in 7th grade was a bit different: Imagine two lakes, one higher then the other, connected by a river. The difference in height between the lakes is the voltage, and how much water the river can carry.

watts are a rate of energy flow, like liters / second. watt hours are a unit of energy, like liters. if you have 1000 watts over an hour, you accumulate 1000 watt hours
