I have some people being like "eh it's fine you can refill the water and crawl around and test the batteries without unplugging anything or shutting off any equipment" and other people being like "careful lol you can literally die if you touch the wrong thing"

Major electrical risks are high amperage. Voltage difference is the electricities desire to move from point a to b, amperage is the amount of electricity moving from a to b. You can have high volts and low amps and get a small shock that not dangerous, but big amps mean big risk

for additional safety at high voltage (even household voltage) work with your right hand, that way if you do touch a live wire the current will not go through your heart
