yes, you need to wait out the incubation, have visibility into incubation, and or keep the groups small, heavily prioritize outdoors / good ventilation

It's almost impossible to keep people truly isolated before an event... people have families, jobs, and relationships.

the only thing i can think of is a two phase period. asking people to take special care to quarantine after their PCR test is reasonable and maybe reduce outbreak probability but it’s not tight

You can ask, but people have lives and you should assume they won't comply or will think they are complying and not realize that their children brought something home from school, or they had exposure on a date...

yes that’s a reasonable assumption. you can only assume some kind of small factor reduction in background exposure probability

Most people don't understand or care. When they show up they say they did everything right. When they get COVID, they say they always wore masks, until it comes out that they visited family or friends...

Maybe they will too, but most people aren't seeing and evaluating risks correctly.

since it is a short term form of intentional community i am hoping that people can guide their behaviour at least, e.g. with microcovid. just going to a place where everyone pledges that masks work and they'll be extra careful for e.g. the week before should have an effect

fwiw I've participated in 10-20 person gatherings involving 1) a 10-day or 14-day cool-down period (keep your microcovids low and NO STRANGERS without P100, only people you can reach later) 2) a 3-day or 5-day HARD ISOLATION (no partners, no kids, NOBODY indoors without P100)
