i like the tech where you make the turbines superhydrophoboic, so the ice doesn’t form. sorta makes sense why they might not have put that first in texas turbines, but i think it’s even possible to retrofit it (spray on teflon in an emulsion I guess)

you also need energy storage, and lots of transmission. nuclear is a better baseload for sure.

having some fossil fuel based plants *for backup* e.g. gas turbines might remain an important component until we’re really very far along in decarbonization.
