honestly, I don’t think it’s about that. I think it’s about the individual responsibility of the elite in a disrupted society. People usually ascribe different powers than they actually have

Ok, that makes sense. You see them incorrectly criticized and inaccurately judged for stuff they don’t have power over or stuff the critics themselves don’t understand.

it's rarely even relevant to a valid criticism. they might honestly engage with valid criticism! but usually it just... totally misses the mark. what's most criticizable is a caricature
