It’s a good question. We’re trying that by calculating infectivity to particle ratios of the full virus. It’s starts like Pokémon though.... catch them first via a swab at the right time. Quarantine programs are good “sentinel networks” for that.....

.....counting viral particles is easy. They have big genomes and you can hit them with nucleic acid dyes to count them live.... the infectivity part is tricky...what cell do you use? What read-out would be the best? You would want a Ace2 + TMPRSS2 cell
