oh baloney; they’re not merely saying there’s not a problem, they’re saying it’s the most inherently stable aircraft he’s ever flown? that’s clearly BS. this is a load of smoke!pic.twitter.com/5ghGoO2QJ9

Not only him, EASA themselves have tested the plane without mcas and said its stable. I doubt you know more than an experienced 737 pilot and EASA
digging in a bit deeper, in this article they claim the problem is when the engines are under power and when they are in a pitch up situation the nacelles themselves will create more lift. so there is a region of instability. then they tried to not require re-simming!
The problem is the control columns were softened due to the changes from 737 ng to 737 max which means they couldnt share the same type rating anymore which means extra pilot training. Transport Canada even recommended the complete removal of MCAS.
do you believe it is the most stable aircraft that they’re ever flown? that seems like overcooked pr.
i think by that he meant as stable as any other 737
maybe, it won’t be in extreme pitch up, which he won’t be hopefully if the undisclosed MCAS doesn’t glitch out. now it’s getting two signals and stops activating if they no longer agree, at least
plus MCAS isnt as powerful as it was. Before the mcas put the plane in an unstoppable dive but now it de activates after pushing nose down for only a couple of seconds if the sensors indicate the plane is about to stall which the pilots can counter if they dont even want that
i don’t know what kind of assurances i can have from that control system / software. i would want to know that they’ve upgraded how the control system operates at a pretty fine level. i am glad it is not as powerful
The biggest fear for me now are whether the grounded planes have been maintained properly or no because groundings can cause quite a lot ofproblems in any airplane (last time air canada b38m engine failure and recently a fault light in west jet b38m)
that’s a good point
