in addition to being built in only 10 days, this Wuhan hospital Wuhan has controlled air pressure in different areas, like the bathrooms and patient care areas, to ensure that aerosols are ventilated away. made the prudent choice to manage air, built from Jan 23rd to Feb 2nd. https://twitter.com/CGTNOfficial/status/1353208566673330177 …pic.twitter.com/gn4bFMoUNQ

the fact that people are still like "China lied about this" when like 890 million people were under lockdown in late January you had total shutdowns, and hospital construction efforts like this, really is a shifting blame tactic. If you were paying attention you'd have reacted

China lied about this. They didn't admit the virus was human to human transmissible until the 20th despite it ripping through hospitals, but were busy building this special hospital 3 days later. They knew, they lied, and they will kill millions.

yes, they lied, and even though most governments covered up to some degree they lied a lot. *however* international organizations and western governments were perhaps even more guilty of ignorance

I'm not accusing China of being guilty of ignorance, especially since I'm not sure what that would mean. Yes most governments botched responses, or refused to respond. That's miles away from having lied though.

Even now, I struggle to take their actions as anything more than theatrics. This graph obviously uses bad data, nothing actually looks like this. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/china/ … Without data there's no evidence-based decisions, just theatrics. They have no reason to stop lying either.pic.twitter.com/ay0q5Iif6M

honestly, their propaganda is different in kind from those from other governments, sure, but how much, really, in magnitude, from e.g. the Trump plan of "slow down testing!"

or the idea that not shutting down flights, then blocking them and relying on it when the genie was already out of the bottle. both seem really bad.

It's possible to have a chain of events where more than one entity had the power to change things. Each one that failed is guilty. Ones that actively lied are additionally guilty of that. Not sure what the number of other entities who failed in their roles has to do with it.
