This one is worrying but it is hard for me to estimate by how much. I'm not an immunologist or epidemiologist and estimating things like cross immunity or how long immunity can last don't come naturally to me. My basic understanding is that even a modest cross immunity... 1/2

... is extremely useful in tamping down other strains. Ex: A 50% cross immunity in a 80% immune population gives a 40% immunity to the new strain. Lowering the effective R value by a lot and therefore reduces the distancing requirements to stay below pandemic levels.
