It's the kind of liability that we don't usually talk about. Basically it's like corporate-scale cancel culture. Everyone's afraid that if they don't fall in line, they'll be up against the wall next. Sometimes their own employees threaten their CEO.

The companies then have to worry about their own reputations, so they'll try to get other companies to fall in line or risk losing business or getting dropped as customers. It's a whole domino effect of cancellation driven by fear of angry people.
