i can't believe people are still doing in person halloween "trick or covid" at this point I have one main costume option left: curmudgeon
my argument is it: a) allows the virus to jump gaps that otherwise it wouldn't b) substantially complicates contact tracing c) creates a false sense of security d) this whole pandemic started with a single infection in abs numbers it might be low, but risk/reward is low too

That all strikes me as valid. And I think the false sense of security + the high risk of Halloween House parties is maybe the most persuasive. (Although I think kids value Halloween, maybe, more than you remember.)
