My dilemma in moving from SF is work. I want to be in the location most optimal for building a new venture firm & recruiting the best people to work with me. My confidence that SF is that location is falling. But I don’t know where else to go.

The reason to leave CA is taxes for someone like you. If you’re just tired of SF, go 15 miles in any direction but West & spend $3M. You will live in a beautiful place amongst people you enjoy being around. You can drive into the open air bathroom as needed.

taxes, definitely. younger people it is more about property crime annoyances, lack of schools for kids, lack of backyards/home office/home gym in a rental. also frustration w London Breed.

SF I’m has always been terribly run. The Mission was worse 20 years ago. Schools were just as bad. The youngs accept it. I’m frankly surprised more families aren’t leaving though. That implies to me they are not sold on a remote future yet and/or rooted.

@rsg, for us it’s not knowing where. I lost the ability to spout meaningless platitudes ab SF (‘how nice the nearby hiking is’) after we had kids. Dropbox going remote-only makes things interesting for us. I love the ppl here; I just can’t stand the fools who run the govt2 replies 0 retweets 16 likes
