Probably because it never effing stops raining there. There's no fomite transmission because the whole city is hosed clean by God twice a day like Seattle..

I think aerosol transmission dominates fomite transmission, so the largest single factor is mask wearing, which was abided by rapidly and early by the asian population in metro vancouver

Yeah you are correct of course but I think Fomite Transmission has been HUGELY underestimated - latest papers saying it can be cultured after 28 days on some surfaces. Explains why China & S Korea bleached their streets.

it certainly does happen, outbreaks in New Zealand were traced to a single trashcan, and our outbrekain Nova Scotia was traced to a gas pump near the airport. however, I think that if you largely handle the airborne transmission vector, fomite transmission goes Rt < 1
