I'd love to see it, don't get me wrong. But unless I'm mistaken, we have seven research papers saying "theoretically this should work, given our assumptions." Which is a credible pitch, given where it's coming from, but still there is a looooong way to go

100% you're right about that, scaling in fusion is very non linear and instabilities can crop up in many places. And ignited plasma is also very different from any regime in which we have yet operated *but* this is about as mainstream as alt fusion projects get.
