i'd say "at least we're finally getting support for CFS research" but then again the countries that could neither put people crossing their borders in monitored/enforced quarantine nor coordinate to sufficiently ramp up surgical/N95 mask production wont give a shit re sequelae.https://twitter.com/paulg/status/1309019623308832773 …

the really depressing thing is how little we know about the etiology of CFS and related syndromes; there's promising results (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7037777/ … and https://www.pnas.org/content/116/21/10250 …) for blood-based diagnostic biomarkers with good sensitivity and specificity but not much else afaik

thats why i cant take seriously any analysis about cost/benefit of eradicating the virus (which has been done successfully in countries like Taiwan) that doesnt address enduring sequelae in survivors and specifically the fact that theres serious sequelae for which we have no cure

in many cases, they can't even verify the eitgology of the problem have been struggling with CFS like crap since 2015 (after a lot of exhausting travel) and it's definitely played into why I take Covid so seriously
